I GOT MY PMP!!!

I am happy to say, that as of July 21, 2013, I have passed my project management exam and became ONE OF THE YOUNGEST PMP's IN THE WORLD!! I am so thankful for the encouragement from my family and the Wilson family (Necall and Rodney Wilson) who allowed me to come into their home and taught me SOOO much about the world of project management.
After my first post, I took a break from the PMP process to focus on graduation. I began the process again after submitting my application July 4th, 2013. The entire process took me a little less than a month (from applying (no audit!), studying, and taking the exam). I have to admit that the exam was definitely intense and requires you to focus, focus, focus!
For me, this achievement is an example of what kids can accomplish when they get involved with the community and give back. I was able to get my application accepted because the volunteer work that I've been doing since middle school was deemed real project management experience. I definitely challenge students to do volunteer work and not just join....but also try to lead the group because you gain so much more experience when STEP UP and STEP OUT from the group.

I am excited to have more real world experiences with project management and will update this blog as it happens!!

Thanks everyone!

NICE! AT WHAT AGE DID YOU RECEIVE YOUR PMP?

As per PMI, social and volunteer work is not considered Professional experience.
Lucky you, escaped the audit. As per PMI, the least age to do PMP certification is age 25. You may check this out in the PMI website.
